Definition of a payday loan: A payday loan is a very short term loan. Usually the term is 1-2 weeks. Payday loans are also knowns as “cash advance”, “paycheck loan”, “check loans”, and “payroll advance loans”. The loan is repaid when you receive your next paycheck. If the borrower cannot or chooses not to repay the loan amount on the due date they can rollover the loan amount by paying an extra fee.

Question about loan

How does a home equity loan work?
I need to know all the details and if it is a good choice. I have payed off my vehicle and credit cards and have none, but I have alot of student loan debt. Our dilema are the student loans. And paying them. I have heard about home equity loans and heard about being tax deductible. How do they work? Do they look bad on your credit? How much can you borrow ? Does it add to the years to pay off your house? We only have eleven years left to pay as it is right now. Just wondering what is a good option. I even thought that after I graduate and am working that my pay checks can go all to my student loans. I am just looking for some good ideas without having to stress out about debt and bills and such. We are trying to pay our bills off and so far have done good. But those student loans are looming in the background.

  2. sunshine6919_2000, I've searched all around for a quick payday loan online, and the best one I found, and that I've used a several times was http://www.americaschoicetoday.com/Payday-Loan.html – the interest rate is really low and they put the funds in by the next day. I hope this helps you, best of luck!

Why don't you talk to your landlord and see if you can pay the landlord a $20 late payment fee instead?

  6. Hello, Sheila.

    As the old saying goes:
"Give a person a fish and you feed them for a day,
Teach a person to fish and you feed them for a lifetime."

Before I provide a link to a list of real lenders, I will try to give you a few tips to help you find actual lenders and avoid referral sites (which are, in many cases, spammers and/or identity thieves).

Of course, I do *not* recommend payday loans. It looks like you have done your homework and are already aware of the dangers so I will not try to dissuade you. Also, I am sure you are already aware of cheaper options like credit unions so I won't waste your time with that, either.

Tips to Avoid Fake Payday Loan Sites:

Note: By "fake" I mean referral sites, spammers, identity thieves and any other sites that are not real lenders or do not actually provide loans.

*Avoid sites that send you commercial e-mail (spam).

*Avoid sites that advertise in forums (comment spam).

*Avoid sites that advertise in pay-per-click ads (organic search engine results tend to be more reliable).

*Avoid sites that do not post an APR (Annual Percentage Rate) table. This is required by the Truth in Lending Act and sites that do not provide APR information are likely rogue sites.

*Avoid sites that do not have a price list (usually price per $100 or multiple thereof). If the site asks you to submit ANY information before they give you such a price, run!

*Avoid lenders that do not list detailed and complete contact information (including physical address and toll-free telephone number). Phone them to ask questions. If you get an answering machine during business hours, run!

*Check to make sure the site uses SSL (secure socket layer) encryption to transfer data (the URL will start with https instead of http).

*Check the WHOIS information and do a Reverse IP check. If the WHOIS information is hidden or the site is hosted on a shared IP address, then it is likely a referral site and not a real lender.

*Avoid lenders that are not licensed by your state regulatory agency for payday loans.

These tips are based on the following article (which goes into more detail)…

Payday Loan Checklist – Ten Things You Must Do Before Applying for an Online Payday Loan:
    http://www.online-payday-loans.org/articles/ten-things-before-you-apply/

Now that we have that out of the way, lets take a look at at a list of real lenders. The site that is the source of the above information has a Payday Lender Comparison Table that lists "actual lenders" and sites to avoid…

    Payday Lender Comparison Table:
    http://www.online-payday-loans.org/compare/
(In addition to listing real lenders and those to avoid, the above table compares prices/fees, maximum loan amount and other loan terms. Be sure the confirm these terms with the actual lender's website – the table information may be outdated.)

To check a loan site registrant and IP address…

    WHOIS Service with Reverse IP:
    http://whois.domaintools.com/

To check if a lender is properly licensed in your state…

State Regulatory Agencies for Payday Loans:
    http://www.online-payday-loans.org/links/list-of-state-regulatory-agencies-for-payday-loans/

Again, I do *not* recommend payday loans or any of the lenders listed in the comparison table. Please avoid them if at all possible.

As you are well aware, carrying out financial transactions online has many risks. If you must take out a payday loan, please consider a "brick-and-mortar" payday loan shop that is legally licensed in your state.

Good luck, Sheila. I hope you find the information you are looking for.

If you are working, you could ask your work for some overtime hours to increase your pay.
You could also get a part time job working weekends.
Otherwise, sometimes churches will give emergency loans/grants for urgent situations like back rent or utilities.

  8. CAROLE says:

You might explore local private and religious charities in your area. If you have bad credit and you don't want a payday loan, then there really aren't any options…other than maybe pawning/selling valuables.

Expect to be bombarded with scam emails/postings offering to qualify you for a loan as long as you send them an up front fee.

    omg did she swear?

  10. WPBlog Shop says:

  11. wolfie says:

First off your charted on dangerous territory… Those payday loan places are dangerous cause of the extreme interest rates. Your probally only choice is too file bankrupcy. Check the bankrupcy laws in your state. If a bank has turned you down for a considilation loan most likley it was caused by the poor credit and payday loans. So I would seek a lawyer now, before it gets worse

  12. Bizzy says:

Do NOT take out a payday loan unless you are already able to earmark EXACTLY where the dollars are coming from (and when) to repay it.

The interest will eat you alive, and someone borrowing as little as $100 can end up paying $350 or more for the privilege!

Far better to raise needed cash some other way…sell something.

hahahahaha. the part where she swears, and he says, plz mind your language, thats so fuckin funny.

There is no such thing as a good Payday loan. They are all crooked. Borrow from anybody but not them. I would die first before I would borrow from them. I laugh every time somebody files bankruptcy and wipes out a payday loan.
