You should try a credit union rather than a bank, they are slightly less restrictive in their less guidelines.

I am in the same boat. I would really check the interest rate and the terms before you sign anything. You may get excited the first time you are approved but end up paying thousands in interest alone. Let me know if you find anything!

I'd be awfully careful dealing with a loan on the internet. Don't give anyone any money upfront on promises you'll get a loan.

Try a credit union in your town or ask someone who knows and respects you. Otherwise, it is hard to get a loan when you have bad credit because you do not have a track record of being financially responsible.

Yes, there are plenty. Several of the major credit card companies offer secured and prepaid credit cards. These can help you to rebuild your credit card rating. If you can't get a credit card with a major bank, then look at Orchard Bank or First Premier Bank. Both of these companies have a good rating with the Better Business Bureau. Always check the BBB's website to find the reputation of any bank you don't recognize.

Once you've reestablished your credit rating, then you will find it much easier to get an unsecured credit card.
